How x402 Payments Work for Autonomous Agents
x402 is the payment primitive for machine-to-machine commerce. The server responds 402 with payment requirements; the agent pays in USDC on Base; the server confirms and fulfils. There is no sign-up, no API key exchange and no human in the loop - an agent can purchase and consume a capability the same way it reads it. AgentNet prices its capabilities over x402 so this is a real, live path, not a diagram.
